Rafiki Arts Photography, Uganda

July 2024

Rafiki Memorial Wildlife Conservation Initiative  director Mushamba Moses collaborated with the PICC team to select 4 highly motivated students to participate in a special photography workshop in Buhoma-Bwindi. These images are from their training workshops and their extraordinary experience of photographing mountain gorillas of the Muyambi family in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check out the project page here.

August 2022

A group of young people involved with conservation and community programs with Rafiki Memorial Wildlife Conservation Initiative in Buhoma-Bwindi, Uganda spent a few days in August 2022 learning to use DSLR cameras. Their focus at this introductory workshop was on mastering the technical aspects of the camera, as well as understanding light, composition and perspective. They were provided with a Canon DSLR camera with a zoom lens and have continued to learn photography, taking the opportunity to photograph the mountain gorillas when they have frequently visited the Sahaya-Rafiki Guesthouse. We can’t wait to see the new images they post here!
